Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

The news of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's passing leaves us in great sorrow.

Since taking the throne in 1952, the Queen has devoted her entire life to serving her country. Princess Elizabeth, then just 18 years old, enlisted in the British military and served in the Women's Auxiliary Territory Services during World War II. As the first member of the Royal Family to ever serve in the military, she was a pioneer. She worked on military trucks and drove army ambulances while serving.

She held the position of head of state for the UK and the Commonwealth for the longest period of time of any monarch in history, which is a monument to her devotion to duty and sense of responsibility.

On this tragic day for our country, we join the UK in expressing our sorrow at the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen experienced significant societal change during her reign, both in her own country and throughout the Commonwealth.

She interacted with communities throughout the world and continued to be a cherished icon in the UK. We, as a healthcare organisation, have seen firsthand how Her Majesty was admired and appreciated by so many people from a broad spectrum of societal and cultural backgrounds.
